Don't go to Ito
Getting baited by Instagram into visiting somewhere feels like a modern rite of passage. There's not much special here, but that made it fun and slow. The town was dead and many hotels were abandoned, apparently from an era of Japanese wealth which encouraged many families to go on holidays within the country. The once-resort town is now strangely quiet, and large parts of the town are left as they were decades ago.
